Construction Day

An experiential learning opportunity for students to visit construction sites and get hands on exposure to various careers, by talking to people in the construction industry.

A construction Day event is a day that allows high school students who have an interest in the construction industry to see first-hand some of the job opportunities available in the Construction industry. This experiential learning opportunity allows students to visit construction sites, learn about occupations and talk to people in the construction industry.

How Does it Work

OCCA works with local construction and employer organizations deliver a full-day, hands-on introduction to the construction industry that includes presentations from construction professionals, visits to local project and materials manufacturing sites, an introduction to construction safety and much more.

OCCA provides all of the information, forms and tools local groups need to plan and deliver their own construction days. OCCA staff is available throughout the process and will play an active role in your Construction Day. Join local areas like Hamilton, Niagara, Barrie and Durham in delivering a real-life introduction to your industry in students in your area.
